8 great places for food and coffee in Naples (Napoli)

Where to eat in Napoli (Naples) is a hard decision. There are so many great places to fill your belly. So many, that you will quite easily eat too much, at least that is what I did everyday while in Napoli. Let me show you some places that are definitely worth a try. They are all in the area of the historic centre. Therefore perfect to combine with the sights you want to visit. I am sure you will not be disappointed by the food.

L di Leopoldo Infante

L di Leopoldi Infante Naples Napoli Cafe

A great place to take a coffee and start your day. Speaking about their coffees, my favourite one was a special cappuccino called 'Capuccino Allo Zenzero'. Apart from tasty coffee they also offer great ice cream and different pastries. You can either order your things to take away or take a seat inside.

Near Piazza San Domenico Maggiore

Via Benedetto Croce, 30/31, 80134 Napoli, Italy

They also have other locations around Naples.

Caffe' Ciorfito

The Caffe' Ciorfito is the number one on TripAdvisor in the category Coffee & Tea in Naples. The coffee was indeed very good and also the pastries were nice. I still preferred the pastries in the L di Leopoldo Infante, however this place is still worth a visit as the coffees are so good. They also have very interesting special coffees, like the one on the picture called 'Caffè Kinder'. It is coffee mixed with Kinder Chocolate. How amazing is that?!

Near Chiesa di San Giorgio Maggiore and Chiesa di San Gregorio Armeno

Via S. Biagio dei Librai, 90/91, 80138, Naples, Italy

Casa Infante

Of course you need to get some ice cream or as it is called in Italian: gelato. I have two favourites. One of them is the Casa Infante. I mean just look at the picture, it already looks so tasty and it also is!

Near Piazza San Domenico Maggiore

Via Benedetto Croce, 47, 80134 Napoli, Italy

They have different locations in Naples. One is just next to the L di Leopoldo Infante.

Gay-Odin

On the same street as the Casa Infante just a few hundreds of meters away is the Gay-Odin. Their ice cream is just as great as the Casa Infante. I would say try both. I slightly preferred the Gay-Odin, while my girlfriend liked the Casa Infante better. According to Lonely Planet it produces the city's best non-sorbet flavours. But you do not only get ice cream here. Make sure to try some of their cocoa creations, they are very popular for those too.

Near Chiesa del Gesù Novo and Basilica di Santa Chiara

Via Benedetto Croce, 61, 80134 Napoli, Italy

They also have other locations around Naples.

L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele

pizzeria da michele naples napoli

Of course we also have to talk about pizza. What would a trip to Italy and especially Naples be without pizza? I honestly had at least one piece of pizza everyday during my one week trip to Italy. Pizza is love! Anyways, let's get on with my first pizza tip. If you are in Naples you need to get a pizza from L`Antica Pizzeria Da Michele. This pizzeria is open since 1870. Expect a lot of people waiting for a table. Sometimes you need to wait for one hour. If you do not want to wait that long and just eat a pizza, order it to take away. I only had to wait for 5-10 minutes. You can only choose between a margeritha and marinara and different sizes. The normal one costs 4 euros.

You can definitely get cheaper pizza in Napoli and it will be just as tasty or maybe even better. It is still worth a visit if you want to get a pizza from one of the world's most famous pizzerias (by the way, one reason for its popularity is that it was shown in the movie 'Eat Pray Love').

Near Piazza Vincenzo Calenda

Via Cesare Sersale, 1, 80139 Napoli, Italy

Vesi Pizzeria

pizzeria vesi naples napoli

I loved the pizza at Vesi. Here you can get a true Neapolitan pizza. But they also have many different other pizzas, meaning different toppings. A margherita will cost you 3 euros. You can also order the pizza for take away. Honestly I was not really happy with the service, the woman that served us was not that friendly. But hey, it is about the pizza and I loved it. Now I am getting hungry again while writing this.

Near Chiesa di San Gregorio Armeno

Via San Biagio Dei Librai, 115, 80138 Napoli, Italy

Perfectoo

Don't feel like eating pizza or pasta today? Try out Perfectoo. We found this restaurant by accident and liked it a lot. I really liked the interior design, the staff was kind and they have good food. We ordered two special edition burgers called 'Food Porn' (for 12 euros) and 'Perfectoo' (for 10 euros). They were very very tasty, a great meal! Most dishes are cheaper though. Normal burgers cost around 6-7 euros and they also offer other kinds of dishes.

Near Basilica San Giovanni Maggiore and the metro station Universita'

Corso Umberto I, 28, 80138 Napoli, Italy

Decumano 31

Fancy some street food? Grab something at Decumano 31, the current number two on TripAdvisor in the category of restaurants in Naples! This place deserves its ranking. They offer great freshly made street food for a very reasonable price and the staff is kind. Either eat your food on the go or take a seat inside or outside the restaurant. However, note that they do not have many seats, especially inside.

Near Chiesa di San Gregorio Armeno

Via San Biagio Dei Librai, 31, 80138, Napoli, Italy

Are you hungry now? I definitely am!

If you are in Napoli I hope that my tips will be useful for you.

I also recommend Sorbillo for great Neapolitan pizza and Il Tandem Ragu for the best ragu you'll ever taste. Both are located in the historic center. Reservations a must for Il Tandem. Enjoy!

Can I simply say what a relief to discover somebody who genuinely understands what they are talking about on the web. You definitely understand how to bring a problem to light and make it important. A lot more people have to read this and understand this side of your story. I was surprised that you are not more popular since you most certainly have the gift.

Hello there! I know this is kinda off topic but I'd figured I'd ask. Would you be interested in exchanging links or maybe guest writing a blog post or vice-versa? My website discusses a lot of the same subjects as yours and I think we could greatly benefit from each other. If you might be interested feel free to shoot me an email. I look forward to hearing from you! Excellent blog by the way!
